Summary:
Wis. Stats. 118.51(5)1 requires that the nonresident school board shall determine the number of regular education and special education spaces available within the school district in the January meeting of the Board. We recommend that all grade levels offer some open seats to nonresident students, though special education programs remain closed.
Budgetary Impact:
Most of the District's revenues are directly tied to student enrollment. Enrolling additional nonresident students would generate increased revenue while generally resulting in minimal additional expenses.
