Summary:
|
The renewal of the transportation contract with Northern Express includes a 2.8% increase in rates. The contract includes a 2-year extension to the original terms, which would extend the partnership through the 2028-2029 school year. Following the current planning, Northern Express will not have out-of-district routes for alternative schools, creating some savings.

Budgetary Impact:
|
RASD projects that student transportation expenses for the 2024-2025 school year will increase by approximately $45,453 compared to the previous year, assuming no snow days. These expenses will be covered by Fund 10 (general operations), Fund 21 (student activity), Fund 27 (special education), and Fund 80 (community services).
