Memo for Recommended Staffing Adjustments for Odyssey Academy for 2024-2025.pdf

Summary:
Given the higher-than-expected student enrollment at Odyssey Academy, we recommend several staffing adjustments for the 2024-2025 school year. These include increasing the science position from 0.3 FTE to 0.5 FTE and raising the English Language Arts position from 0.9 FTE to full-time. Additionally, if the student-teacher ratio in grades 4K-2 reaches 45:1, we suggest adding a 0.5 FTE teaching position. Similarly, a 0.5 FTE teaching position should be added in grades 3-5 if their enrollment ratio reaches 45:1.
Budgetary Impact:
Odyssey Academy's revenue and expenses are recorded under the General Fund (Fund 10). The projected increase in student enrollment will lead to higher tuition revenue, which is expected to fully offset the costs associated with the proposed staffing increases. Therefore, the additional teaching positions can be funded without negatively impacting the overall budget.
Recommendation
I move to approve the teaching position adjustments for Odyssey Academy as presented.
